On-Demand eTraining

The Iowa Stormwater Education Partnership now offers on-demand eTraining courses in an effort to make certification and recertification more accessible to stormwater professionals. Professionals can learn at their own pace and at their own convenience. More information on each of our eTraining programs is shown below.

Iowa Green Stormwater Infrastructure Training (IGSIC)

A convenient on-demand training program for those interested in learning how to install and design green infrastructure best management practices.  This is a certificate program as opposed to a certification program that requires passing an exam and recertification.  A certificate is issued upon completion of the training and is good for five years.  This is an ever-evolving field.  Therefore, it is recommended that the participant renew their certificate every five years to stay updated on changes to design and construction of many of the practices.

Courses currently available on-demand:

  1. Rain Gardens (IGSIC-01)
  2. Detention & Retention Basins (IGSIC-02)
  3. Stormwater Design (IGSIC-03)
  4. Bioretention Cell Design (IGSIC-04)

“The instructor was very knowledgeable and had a calm and logical method of teaching that truly connects with anyone taking the online course. Not only was the course both fun and challenging but ISWEP’s direct feedback on the training was invaluable. I can’t speak highly enough of this course.”

– Garth R.

“Completing the online ICCSPPI recertification was easy and efficient. The modular format allowed the course to be completed over multiple days and the learning checks at the end of each were helpful for key detail retention.”

– Angelique S.

“I thought the delivery method for the on-demand online ICCSPPI Certificationtraining was effective for me. The instructor was a clear communicator and was very good at highlighting a few key points that I would guess have been problematic in the field – see porta-potty placement. I finished up the course with a confidence that I had an adequate understanding of the intent of the regulation and BMPs. ”

– John W.

Iowa Certified Construction Site Pollution Prevention Inspectors and Installers Recertification (ICCSPPI-02)

The ICCSPPI program offers an affordable, time efficient, certification opportunity for inspectors and installers of construction site pollution prevention practices for sediment and erosion control. This course is meant for professionals that are already ICCSPPI certified and required to recertify every 3 years to maintain certification.
