SUMMARY:Iowa Salt Applicator Leadership Training (ISALT)
DESCRIPTION:ISWEP is excited to partner with the Iowa Chapter of the American Public Works Association and the Professional Snowfighter’s Association to bring comprehensive winter maintenance training this September in the Des Moines metro area. This professional development program is designed for winter maintenance professionals including city and county personnel\, DOT staff\, engineers\, contractors\, facilities managers\, and commercial service providers. \nThe training will cover essential topics including regulations and environmental impact\, understanding different deicing materials and their performance\, proper storage and handling practices\, equipment calibration and application techniques\, and weather monitoring strategies. Participants will learn to balance deicing effectiveness with environmental protection while optimizing their winter operations. Certificates of attendance will be provided for professional development hours (PDHs). \nLunch following the training from 12-1 pm is included. \nPresenters: Wilf Nixon\, Kevin Hensley \nRegistration: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/rs8cpmn
