SUMMARY:Iowa Industrial Stormwater Management Annual Training
DESCRIPTION:This half-day training covers the regulatory requirements\, compliance strategies\, and emerging issues that matter most to facilities operating under Iowa’s industrial stormwater permits. \nIowa’s General Permits No. 1 and No. 3 require facilities to train employees on stormwater pollution prevention at regular intervals. This training satisfies that annual requirement while keeping your team current on regulatory changes\, inspection expectations\, and new challenges in industrial stormwater management. \nThe morning moves from permit fundamentals and SWPPP development through sampling protocols\, site inspections\, and emerging contaminant monitoring. Presenters from Iowa DNR and Stanley Consultants share real-world observations from the field\, including a case study on monitoring and treatment approaches for PFAS and microplastics. \nWhat You’ll Learn \n\nIdentify key requirements of Iowa General Permits No. 1 and No. 3 for industrial stormwater discharges\nDevelop\, review\, and update a SWPPP that meets current permit standards\nApply correct sampling and monitoring procedures\nRecognize emerging contaminants and understand how future monitoring requirements may affect your facility\nConduct and document site inspections that meet permit requirements\n\nWho Should Attend \nThis training is designed for anyone responsible for industrial stormwater compliance at their facility\, including environmental compliance staff\, facility and operations managers\, stormwater coordinators\, and personnel who conduct inspections or manage SWPPPs. MS4 city staff who oversee industrial discharges to their systems will also benefit. \nAbout the Presenters \nTraining sessions are led by professionals from Stanley Consultants and Iowa DNR\, with opening and closing remarks from ISWEP. \nStanley Consultants is a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm with over 110 years of experience. Their environmental and regulatory team specializes in helping clients navigate complex environmental regulations through sustainable engineering solutions\, including industrial water management\, wastewater treatment\, water quality\, and environmental compliance. Their work spans private industry\, utilities\, and federal\, state\, and local government agencies. For this training\, Stanley’s team brings hands-on experience with industrial stormwater permitting\, SWPPP implementation\, sampling protocols\, and emerging contaminant monitoring. \nDavid Schilling of Iowa DNR provides the regulatory perspective\, sharing current inspection observations and enforcement trends directly from the field. \nRegister here!
