DESCRIPTION:WHEELS AND WATER BIKE TOUR \nRegistration at:  https://bit.ly/wheelswaterbiketour \nGay Lea Wilson Trail – Meet @ Mally’s Park Trail Head\n5792 NE Berwick Dr. Berwick\, IA\nTour begins at 9:00 am and ends at approx. 11:00 am at Copper Creek in Pleasant Hill\, IA \nJoin us Saturday\, September 23rd at 9 am for a fun and  leisurely two-hour bike tour of green stormwater infrastructure along the beautiful Gay Lea Wilson Trail. \nFor several years\, the Des Moines metro has been hit hard by floods. One of the best ways to deal with flooding is to restore our landscape so that it is better equipped to handle the water. \nCome on the tour to check out what Polk County\, the City of Des Moines\, and other communities have been doing to restore the landscape with green stormwater infrastructure\, such as wetlands\, oxbow restoration\, bioswales\, rain gardens and much more! This work not only helps to protects us from flooding\, but has created a beautiful and fun recreational trail for all to use. \nThe tour will be guided by John Swanson\, Polk County Water Resource Supervisor. \nThe trail is an easy\, flat and shaded trail. The ride will be about 8 miles one way.
