About the Webinars

Expanding off 2020’s successful native plant tour series, ecologist and botanist Dr. Tom Rosburg of Drake University will take Iowans on a new journey in 2021… weeds and invasives! Explore new reaches of Iowa while Tom helps participants learn how to identify and manage common weeds and invasive plants all too common to many landscapes.

Tom will travel to different regions of the state and teach participants how to identify weeds in the field at different growth stages in the spring, summer, and fall. Plant characterization will be on an elementary botanic level. Each webinar will feature a pre-recorded tour and followed by live Q&A session with Tom. Certificates of attendance provided for PDHs.

Who Should Attend

  • Those who maintain green infrastructure (bioretention cells, bioswales, and rain gardens)
  • Those involved with ecosystem restoration, reconstruction, and delineation of different plant habitats
  • Plant enthusiasts and landowners
