About the Training
The Iowa Certification for Inspection & Maintenance of Stormwater Practices (IMSP) training program offers a great opportunity for those who inspect and maintain stormwater management practices including both flood control practices (detention, retention, and constructed wetlands) as well as infiltration based practices (bioretention, bioswales, rain gardens, green roofs, and porous pavement systems). This could include city staff, lawn and landscape personnel, landscape contractors, engineering professionals and owners of private basins, homeowner association representatives, and commercial landowners.
Get a comprehensive understanding of stormwater BMPs and learn how to keep them in working order to manage water quality, control flooding, and reduce the likelihood of practice failure. The following topics are included: Stormwater management practices and regulations, Iowa Stormwater Management Manual, components, function, inspection and maintenance of BMPs, interpretation of as-built plans, field tour, and tools needed for success.
! UPDATE (7/28/2021): The training will NOW be held at Copper Creek Lake Park Shelter in Pleasant Hill.
